Thomas Kuei is a designer from California who holds a master's degree from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University. Most recently, he has worked at MKCA on historic renovations, ground-up homes, and studio spaces for various prominent cultural figures.

Thomas strives to expose himself to the many facets of architecture, co-founding POSIT, an architecture publication that provides resources for young architects and designers, participating in AIAS as the AXP coordinator and graphic designer, spearheading national and international competition design proposals such as the Solar Decathlon hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Bazaar Istanbul hosted by Archasm. His commitment to his education has earned him repeated semesters on the Dean's List, enrollment in the Reneé Crown Honors Program, a travel grant by "Friends of Syracuse University," and the Crown-Wise Grant for his final thesis project titled "Hatch is Hatch."

Thomas has worked for architecture studios and urban design offices in New York and Los Angeles, including Gluckman Tang, GRT Architects, Michael Maltzan Architects, Rice+Lipka Architects, Studio Co, and The New York City Department of City Planning. During these work experiences, Thomas worked on projects such as a large-scale residential dorm for MIT, the Art Mill International Design Competition, IPA Loft Law Summer Fellowship, and a re-imagination of prototypical industry typologies to increase resilience against hurricanes and flooding, gaining insight on firm culture while honing his skills in programs such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as in physical model making.
