BLOCK PARTI
Modern day Florence exists within a period of architectural stagnation backed by antiquated policy. The proposal aims to revive the extinct tower house typology of Florence with a contemporary agenda and modern architectural techniques to propel the city into a contemporary context that maintains a respect for the historical significance of the city. This building draws inspiration from the original tower house’s single-family function, thick poché, and slender proportions while integrating an intense study of formal and typological precedence. The tower fuses living and working while also providing continuous nomadic vertical living.
